Where it becomes necessary for a passenger to cancel their own flight the taxes and charges relating to the flight are refundable.
Claims for refunds should be submitted directly to the relevant airline. Such refunds may be subject to an administration fee.
Please note that the Commission for Aviation Regulation has no enforcement powers regarding the level of administration fee charged.
However when a flight is cancelled by the air carrier and the passenger elects reimbursement under Article 8 of Regulation (EC) 261/2004 the refund will be for the “full cost of the ticket at the price at which it was bought”.
